RCMP investigating discovery of canine remains in Upper Island Cove
Police are investigating after canine remains were discovered in Upper Island Cove late last week.
The RCMP confirmed that officers responded to a report around 5:40 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026, after the remains of a dog were found down an embankment along Bishops Cove Shore Road.
With assistance from the Harbour Grace Volunteer Fire Brigade’s high-angle rescue team, the remains were safely recovered from the scene.
Authorities say the remains have since been transferred to a veterinarian, where a necropsy is expected to be completed as part of the investigation.
The RCMP say the investigation is ongoing, and no further details are being released at this time.
