Provincial government buildings in St. John’s Metro area closed today
The province recognizes the impact of the significant snowfall and ongoing storm conditions on communities in the greater St. John’s area. To support municipalities as they work to keep residents safe while they continue to clear roads, all provincial government buildings in the St. John’s metro area are closed today, except for those employees who have been advised to come to work. This will allow important road clearing to continue without increasing traffic.
Memorial University and the College of the North Atlantic have informed the province that they will also close their St. John’s metro buildings today to support the cleanup.
The province encourages residents to follow guidance from their municipalities, limit travel where possible, and exercise caution if travel is necessary.
