President Trump sends dire message to Iran; deadline set for 8 p.m. in Washington
U.S. President Donald Trump has warned Iran that a “whole civilization will die tonight” but said there’s still time with the deadline set for 8 p.m. in Washington.
Trump issued the threat this morning, about 12 hours ahead of his deadline for Iran to agree to a deal that includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz or face punishing strikes.
Trump wrote on his social media site: “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.”
He added: “I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will.”
President Masoud Pezeshkian posted on X that 14 million Iranians had answered state media and text message campaigns urging people to volunteer to fight, adding that he would join them.
