Police make arrest in Deer Park carjacking; Marcus Druken remains in custody
Thirty-four-year-old Marcus Druken of Goulds was arrested by Holyrood RCMP on April 14 after reports of a carjacking in Deer Park. On Sunday morning, police responded to a report of a carjacking on Vineland Road. A car was stolen at knifepoint. The suspect, Marcus Druken, and the stolen vehicle were located a short distance away. Druken resisted arrest, assaulted two officers and was taken into police custody.
Druken is charged with the following criminal offences:
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Robbery
- Resisting arrest
- Assaulting a police officer – two counts
The victim of the car jacking was uninjured. The vehicle was recovered and returned to its rightful owner. The investigation is continuing.
