Police investigates theft of truck, man and woman arrested

Harbour Grace RCMP arrested two people after locating a stolen truck in Shearstown on Saturday morning.

On Jan. 10, police responded to the theft of a grey Dodge Ram truck from a commercial lot in Carbonear sometime in the early morning hours of Saturday.

Police obtained video surveillance footage of the theft, and the suspects were identified. Police also received a report about the location of the vehicle in nearby Shearstown, where police found the truck and arrested two individuals.

As a result of this investigation, Brent Jackson, 54, is being held in police custody and will attend court in February to answer to charges of:

  • Operating a motor vehicle while prohibited,
  • Failure to comply with a Release Order – two counts,
  • Theft of a motor vehicle,
  • Break and enter to commit an indictable offence,
  • Possession of property obtained by crime.

A 41-year-old woman was released on conditions and will attend court in March. She is charged with:

  • Possession of a prohibited weapon – two counts,
  • Failure to comply with a Probation Order.

The investigation is continuing.
