Police arrest man for theft, breaching probation order
Bay St. George RCMP arrested a 32-year-old man on Monday after a theft from a retail store in Stephenville. The Mattis Point man now faces charges of theft and failure to comply with his probation order.
On Jan. 13, police responded to a theft from a retail store on Prince Rupert Drive in Stephenville. A store employee reported that a man that was known to the staff had left the store with unpaid items, and provided a description of the suspect to officers.
Police located and arrested the suspect a short time later. He is expected to appear in Stephenville Provincial Court on March 15 to face charges of theft under $5,000 and failure to comply with a probation order.
The investigation is ongoing.
