Police arrest four following disturbance, residential search in Happy Valley-Goose Bay
RCMP Labrador District General Investigation Section (GIS) has arrested four individuals after an attempted robbery and subsequent search at a Happy Valley-Goose Bay home resulted in the seizure of suspected cocaine, cash and items consistent with drug trafficking.
During the early morning hours of March 23, police received a report of an attempted robbery and assault at a home on Trudeau Street. As part of its investigation, officers executed a search of the residence later that day, with the assistance of Happy Valley-Goose Bay officers and RCMP Police Dog Services.
During the search, investigators located a seized a quantity of suspected cocaine, cash and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking activity.
Paul Vader, 55, was arrested without incident inside the home. He has been charged with:
- Aggravated assault
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
- Possessing property obtained by crime
- Unauthorized possession of prohibited weapon, device or ammunition
- Failure to comply with a release order – four counts
Three others have been arrested in relation to this investigation.
Maya Rich, 20, was taken into custody at the home on March 23, and is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, and possessing property obtained by crime.
Vader and Rich were held in custody over the weekend, and both are expected to appear in court today.
Thirty-seven-year-old Kieran (Alex) Pardy and 21-year-old Dillion Bragg were also arrested in relation to the initial report of a robbery.
Pardy has been charged with robbery and two counts of uttering threats. Bragg was taken into custody on March 24, and faces charges of robbery and failure to comply with a release order. Both men are expected to appear in provincial court today.
The investigation is ongoing with additional charges possible.
