Owners of Landing’s Restaurant processing tremendous loss after devastating fire
The emergency evacuation order in Portugal Cove–St. Philip’s was lifted Tuesday evening after firefighters spent a long day battling the blaze that destroyed Landing’s Restaurant.
Emergency crews from several municipalities came together to help fight the fire. Officials from the Town of Portugal Cove–St. Philip’s posted on social media that situations like this are a powerful reminder of how important strong relationships between local services and neighbouring communities truly are.
The owners of Landing’s Restaurant also shared a message online, saying they are still processing the tremendous loss. They added that, thankfully, no one was inside at the time of the fire.
