Nunatsiavut Government stands in solidarity with Greenland
The Nunatsiavut Government says it is concerned by ongoing statements regarding the possible takeover of Greenland, noting such threats undermine the fundamental right of the people of Greenland to determine their own future.
“The people of Greenland, many of whom are Inuit, have the right to choose their own destiny. The Nunatsiavut Government stands firmly in solidarity with our Inuit brothers and sisters in Greenland in
defending their sovereignty and self-determination.”
President Lampe emphasized the strong bonds linking the Inuit of Nunatsiavut and Greenland with all Inuit across Inuit Nunaat, rooted in shared language, culture and history. “We are united as Inuit. Any attempt to impose outside control over Greenland is an attack on our freedom and self-determination,” the President added.
NTV’s Bailey Howard is covering the story and will have more at 5:30 and 6.
