Numerous Toronto police officers arrested in attempted murder plot and corruption investigation dubbed Project South
A major story is unfolding in Toronto at this hour.
Seven Toronto police officers and one retired member have been named as suspects in a conspiracy that, according to CTV News, allegedly involved the attempted murder of an Ontario corrections officer.
Numerous other suspects have also been charged following the seven-month investigation, dubbed Project South.
“What I can tell you is this investigation is ongoing and will continue for some time,” said Deputy Chief Ryan Hogan. “The people that we had sufficient grounds to lay charges on in this investigation have been reported on today and are in the packages that were provided today as the investigation continues and we continue to examine relationships between the arrested police officers, the retired member and other factions of organized crime that have been arrested.”
