NL student receives the Beaverbrook Vimy Prize

News

Back in July, 16 students from across Canada, France, England, and Germany took part in a 10-day experiential program, known as the Beaverbrook Vimy Prize. One of the Beaverbrook Vimy Prize recipients was Nicolas Abrard from St. John’s.

The program, open to students ages 15 to 17, offers an immersive educational program where students explore the history and legacy of the First and Second World Wars.

Recipients travelled through France and Belgium, visiting significant historical sites, museums, military cemeteries, memorials, and former battlefields.

The Beaverbrook Vimy Prize is a competitive educational program. Applicants are selected through a rigorous application process.

NTV’s Kyle Brookings will have that story tonight on the NTV Evening Newshour.
