New-Wes-Valley RCMP seizes vehicle from uninsured driver

Justice, News

A driver had his vehicle impounded and received multiple summary offence tickets from New-Wes-Valley RCMP after a traffic stop on Wednesday.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on April 1, officers received a report of an uninsured vehicle being driven by a driver without a licence. Police patrolled the area and located the driver on Main Road in Valleyfield.

Police confirmed that the driver was unlicensed and did not have valid insurance. There were also two separate licence plates attached to the rear of the vehicle — neither of which were registered to that vehicle.

The 32-year-old Gander man was ticketed under the Highway Traffic Act for:

  • Operating a vehicle without a driver’s licence,
  • Using identification plates or markers other than the one issued for the vehicle – two counts,
  • Operating a vehicle without a policy of insurance.

The vehicle was seized and impounded.
