Nain RCMP investigating cyclist involved collision
Nain RCMP is investigating a collision involving a young cyclist on Monday evening in the community. The child sustained serious, potentially life-threatening injuries, and police are looking to speak with witnesses and obtain any video footage of the incident.
At approximately 8:45 p.m. on July 6, police responded to a report of a collision between a vehicle and cyclist at the intersection of Harmony and Angel Streets in Nain. Local community clinic personnel responded to the scene.
The cyclist was transported to the Nain Community Clinic for emergency assessment and treatment, and have since been transported to a larger centre for further care and treatment.
The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and has fully cooperated with the police investigation.
Nain RCMP is asking any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police, or anyone with video surveillance or dash camera footage of the incident to contact the local detachment at 709-992-2862 as soon as possible.
The investigation is continuing.
