N.L. versus N.L. matchup thrills hometown Brier crowd in St. John’s, ends with group photo
Both Newfoundland and Labrador teams were in the spotlight Monday night at the Brier in St. John’s.
Team Gushue took on Team Young in a primetime matchup that was featured nationally on TSN. Gushue came out on top 8-5, but not before Young gave him a run for his money early in the game. Team Young led 3-2 after the 3rd end and forced Gushue to take a single in the 4th. Team Gushue finally took control of the game with a steal of two in the 5th end.
The hometown crowd at Mary Brown’s Centre gave both teams a standing ovation as they gathered for a group photo after the game.
