N.L.’s Team Gushue opens Brier with pair of 10-2 victories
Team Gushue began the Brier this weekend with a pair of blowout wins.
On Friday night, the rink representing Newfoundland and Labrador defeated Quebec 10-2 in the opening draw of the 2026 Montana’s Brier at Mary Brown’s Centre. Team Gushue followed that with an identical score of 10-2 over Nunavut Saturday night.
This is skip Brad Gushue’s final Brier as he plans to retire at the end of this season.
The second Newfoundland and Labrador team led by skip Nathan Young opened with one win and one loss. Team Young defeated Nunavut 8-4 in the opening draw, but lost to Quebec 7-3 on Saturday night.
