Mount Pearl man charged with attempted murder has case set over
A 49-year-old Mount Pearl man accused of trying to kill an elderly man this past summer had his case called in provincial court in St. John’s today.
Colin Gerard English has been in custody since July 3, when he was arrested in connection with a violent incident at a home on Michener Avenue in Mount Pearl. Police said a 72-year-old man suffered serious injuries that were consistent with a stabbing.
English faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault and robbery.
Today, English appeared in court by video from the West Coast Correctional Centre in Stephenville.
Lawyers agreed to have things move through case management court on Dec. 4, at which time they will discuss the next steps.
