More than two-year sentence handed down in 2023 Harbour Breton drug trafficking investigation

Justice, News

At a court appearance held on January 16, 2026, in Grand Falls-Windsor courts, Angus Henry Snook – 55 of Harbour Breton – was handed a sentence following his conviction in relation to one count of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. Snook has been sentenced to 27-months in custody at Her Majesty’s Penitentiary (HMP).

The Controlled Drugs and Substances Act charge was laid by Harbour Breton RCMP, following Snook’s arrest on July 7, 2023, in relation to an ongoing drug investigation supported by the RCMP West District General Investigation Section (GIS).

RCMP NL is pleased with the outcome of this investigation and reminds the public that cocaine is the leading cause of overdose deaths in Newfoundland and Labrador. Naloxone is ineffective in combatting cocaine overdose.  If you suspect someone is overdosing on cocaine, immediately seek medical attention.
