Minister Paddock attends first immigration forum meeting as co-chair
The Honourable Lin Paddock, minister of Jobs, Growth and Rural Development, will attend a meeting of the Forum of Ministers Responsible for Immigration in Ottawa on June 22 and 23.
The meeting will be Paddock’s first since Newfoundland and Labrador assumed the role of provincial-territorial co-chair of the forum.
The forum brings together federal, provincial and territorial ministers responsible for immigration to discuss shared priorities and support Canada’s immigration system.
Newfoundland and Labrador’s term as provincial-territorial co-chair began April 1 and runs until March 31, 2029.
As co-chair, the province helps coordinate meetings and engagement activities, supports collaboration among provinces and territories, and contributes to policy discussions and working groups focused on immigration issues.
