Memorial University to receive major support for student researchers
Dr. Janet Morrisson, president and vice-chancellor of Memorial University, will host an event to announce major funding for the Centre for Analytics, Informatics and Research (CAIR), thanks to ExxonMobil Canada Properties, as operator of and on behalf of the Hebron Project.
CAIR is Memorial’s high-performance computing data centre providing computing, storage and solution-support services within a teaching-focused data centre environment. The centre supports university and local ecosystem projects and is staffed by students who gain real-world experience working with state-of-the-art infrastructure.
Dr. Morrison will be joined by members of the university community and industry and government partners. The announcement will be made on Wednesday, March 18, at 10:30 a.m. in the Whale Atrium of the Core Science Facility, Memorial University, St. John’s campus.
