Marble Mountain gears up for opening day as snow conditions improve
Marble Mountain is gearing up for another season and early conditions are shaping up well, despite an electrical outage on site over the holidays that slowed snowmaking.
Officials at Marble Mountain say the top of the hill is showing strong coverage, with plenty of natural snowfall and snowmaking operations are now underway midway down the mountain. They also have snow guns producing man-made snow to ensure groomed runs are in prime condition ahead of opening day.
However, an electrical outage near the base of the mountain over the holidays did slow snow making, but once colder temperatures return, crews are ready to ramp operations back up. An estimated opening date is expected to be announced later this week.
