Man with suspended license pulled over by police
A 42-year-old man had his vehicle seized by Whitbourne-Placentia RCMP on Saturday night after police learned he was driving with a suspended license and without proper insurance.
Around 9:30 p.m. on January 17, an officer patrolling the Trans-Canada Highway in Whitbourne spotted a man known to have a suspended license operating a vehicle. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver attempted to avoid officers, but then pulled over.
Police discovered that in addition to a suspended license, the vehicle he was driving was not insured, and the registration had expired. The man was issued tickets for driving while disqualified, and for not having valid insurance or registration. The truck he was driving was seized and impounded by RCMP.
