Man provides police with false name following single vehicle collision

News

RNC officers were called to a cul-de-sac in St. John’s after a member of the public reported someone had left their vehicle running in the middle of the street, and fled the area on foot. When police arrived, they determined that the vehicle had collided with a snowbank.

The RNC K9 unit was brought in, and the person who fled from the vehicle was located inside a nearby establishment. The suspect denied any involvement, however through the course of their investigation, it was determined that he also provided police with a false name.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old man was arrested for public mischief, and breach of his release order. A further check revealed that there was also a warrant out for his arrest.

He was held for court today.
