Man attempts to steal taxi to flee police
At 1:50 a.m. the RNC conducted a traffic stop with a taxi in St. John’s believing a wanted person was a passenger.
The male passenger attempted to steal the taxi and as a result, the taxi rolled backwards and collided with the police unit.
The 26-year-old male passenger was arrested and held for theft of a motor vehicle, resisting arrest and breach of probation. The warrants were also executed.
