Man arrested after ammunition found during traffic stop in St. John’s
Police in St. John’s arrested two occupants of a vehicle Friday night after one was reportedly found with ammunition and the other was driving while impaired.
RNC patrol officers conducted a traffic stop at around 9:30 p.m. on Ricketts Road.
Officers identified both occupants. A 34-year-old man had two outstanding arrest warrants. When officers searched him, they found he had ammunition. He was taken into custody and charged with four counts of breaching a firearms prohibition. He was held for court.
The 28-year-old female driver was charged with driving while impaired by drugs. She was later released.
The investigation is continuing.
