Liberal Party elects new president
The Liberal Party held its Biennial General Meeting and Convention this weekend which included the election of a new party president.
The virtual meeting was an afternoon of bylaw and policy updates, awards and an election of a new board executive.
John Whelan won the presidential role by acclamation. Whelan was the Liberal Party’s candidate for St. John’s East-Quidi Vidi during the 2025 provincial election. Whelan replaces Ashley Power-Stack who was president since 2022.
