Labrador City lifts all evacuation alerts after Walsh River fire deemed under control
Labrador City has announced that all evacuation alerts have been lifted. That’s after a recommendation from the Forestry Department that the Walsh River Fire is now under control. The alerts have been lifted for Walsh River, Duley Lake, Throne Lake, and Tamarack Golf Course. It’s been a busy three weeks for crews battling an overwhelming number of wildfires in Labrador. Officials say thousands of hectares, if not more, have been burned. NTV’s Becky Daley reports.
