Impaired driver arrested after passing out behind the wheel near Placentia
A 37-year-old Placentia man was arrested on Boxing Day after passing out behind the wheel of his SUV.
Just before 7:00 p.m. on December 26, officers responded to a report from a passerby who spotted the man behind the wheel on Route 91 near Placentia who they believed to be unconscious.
Police say the driver showed clear signs of alcohol impairment and was arrested for impaired operation. He was transported to the detachment where he provided breath samples that were more than four times legal limit. His vehicle was seized and impounded.
The man was later released from custody and is expected to appear in provincial court on February 26, 2026 to answer to charges of impaired driving.
