Holyrood RCMP seeking public’s assistance locating suspect in flight from police
Holyrood RCMP is looking for the public’s assistance locating a vehicle and driver involved in a flight from police on Sunday.
On March 8, around 12:40 p.m., an employee at a Holyrood gas station reported a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. The vehicle departed, travelling in a dangerous and erratic manner as police followed an attempted a traffic stop. The driver fled from police at a high rate of speed, and officers did not pursue in the interest of public safety.
The vehicle was located a short time later, abandoned, as the driver and passenger had fled on foot. The passenger was located and taken into custody, but the driver returned to the vehicle and took off in a dangerous manner.
The driver is described as a white male, with red hair and brown eyes. He is approximately 5’7” tall and 160 lbs. The vehicle is a blue Chevrolet Cruze sedan, Newfoundland and Labrador licence plate #JEF946.
Police believe it is likely the vehicle and driver are in the Holyrood or Trinty-Conception area.
