Happy ending to all-day search for missing Logy Bay man
A happy ending, this evening, to a search for a missing Logy Bay man.
Just after 6:00 p.m. this evening, the Rovers Ground Search and Rescue announced on social media that missing person Patrick O’Rourke had been located, and is live and well. It was a search that lasted through all of Friday, with multiple agencies lending their assistance. While the Rovers searched from the ground, the Canadian Coast Guard, tasked by the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre, searched by water and air. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary was also involved, making use of Patrol Services, Police Dog Services, and Drone Operators.
Mr. O’Rourke was located in a grassy field several hundred metres from where he was last seen, at about 2:30 a.m..
Mood at the command centre, which was set up at Kelly Park, was understandably light as news spread of the search’s successful end.
