Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP make arrest in retail theft
Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP arrested a 37-year-old woman on Sunday after receiving a report of a theft from a retail store.
Around 4:45 p.m. on March 1,police were called to a retail store on Duggan Street after a store employee reported that a woman had left the store with unpaid items. The employee was able to provide a description of the woman and the vehicle she left in.
Police located that vehicle a short time later on the Trans-Canada Highway and conducted a traffic stop. Both the driver and the described suspect were arrested without incident. A 37-year-old woman was charged with theft under $5,000 and released with conditions. She is expected to appear in court in April 2026.
The driver of the vehicle was released without charges.
The investigation is ongoing.
