Grand Falls-Windsor company charged with OHS violations

A Grand Falls-Windsor company and one of its supervisors have been charged with occupational health and safety violations following a 2024 incident which resulted in injuries of an employee due to carbon monoxide exposure at a work site.

The incident occurred on April 9, 2024 at a work site in Grand Falls-Windsor. Skir Enterprises Inc. is facing a long list of charges including failure to ensure that personal protective equipment was used properly, failure to notify the assistant deputy minister of the accident and failure to provide the proper training and supervision to ensure worker safety. The company’s supervisor, who was not named, is charged with failure to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all workers under his or her supervision, as well as failure to ensure the worker used proper protective equipment.

The company’s first appearance is scheduled for April 22.
