Female under-13 and under-15 hockey playdowns set for this weekend
The 2026 U15 and U13 AAA Female League Playdowns are being played this weekend. The U15 is being hosted by Gander, while the U13 goes in St. John’s.
Under-15 Playdowns
The championship will feature the province’s top 13 and 14-year-old female players representing four regional teams. The teams competing this weekend are:
- Eastern Ice Breakers
- Western Warriors
- Central IcePak
- Tripen Ice
The Eastern Ice Breakers and Western Warriors will be playing a best three-out-of-five series with the Western Warriors representing NL at the Atlantics and the Eastern Ice Breakers attending as the Host team. Meanwhile, the Central IcePak and Tripen Ice teams will compete to determine the bronze medalist.
The 2026 U15 Female Atlantic Championships will take place April 16–19 at Jack Byrne Arena in Torbay, NL where both off these teams will proceed to play against three other teams representing their Atlantic Province team.
Under-13 Playdowns
The 2026 U13 AAA Female League Playdowns will take place this weekend, March 13th–15th, at the DF Barnes Arena in St. John’s, NL. The championship will feature the province’s top 11 and 12-year-old female players representing five regional teams. The teams competing this weekend are:
- TriPen Ice U13 AAA
- Central IcePak U13 AAA
- Western Warriors U13 AAA
- Eastern Icebreakers Black U13 AAA
- Eastern Icebreakers Red U13 AAA
The winner of the 2026 U13 AAA Female League Play Down will earn the right to represent the province and attend the 2026 U13 Female Atlantic Championships and will proceed to play against four other teams representing their Atlantic Province team.
The 2026 U13 Female Atlantic Championships are being held April 16 – April 19 in Sydney, NS.
