Contract Awarded for Construction of New Fire Station in the Goulds
The City of St. John’s has announced that a contract has been awarded to construct a new state-of-the-art fire station in the Goulds. The facility, which is funded through a $12,705,832 investment through the Build Communities Strong Fund, is designed for efficiency, which will reduce operating and maintenance costs, deliver up to a 90% reduction in space heating energy demand, and achieve an estimated 30-40% reduction in total building ownership costs. Construction will begin immediately at 371 Main Road, and is expected to be completed by January 2028.
