Quebec’s Steven Dubois captured the short track speed skating men’s 500-metre Olympic title Wednesday, his second medal at Milano Cortina 2026.

The 28-year-old dominated the men’s 500-metre race to win Canada’s fourth gold medal in Italy.

It is the second medal for Dubois at the Milan Cortina Olympics, after the silver he won in the mixed team relay last week. He now has five Olympic medals in his career.

Meanwhile, the women’s team earned bronze in the 3,000-metre relay, behind South Korea and Italy. The podium finish gave Courtney Sarault, 25, an incredible fourth medal in four events.

Canada now has 14 medals at these Games, including four gold.
