Burin Peninsula RCMP seeking public’s assistance locating stolen vehicle

Justice, News

Burin Peninsula RCMP is investigating an overnight break and enter at a Grand Bank business, as well as the theft of a delivery vehicle. Anyone with information about this crime, including the location of the stolen vehicle, is being asked to contact police as soon as possible.

Around 8:00 a.m. on July 7, Burin Peninsula RCMP responded to a break and enter at the Grand Bank Home Hardware. An employee arriving to open the store reported that the business had been broken into overnight, and that a quantity of cash and supplies were taken. There was also substantial damage reported to the business and merchandise.

In addition to the theft inside the store, a yellow Home Hardware truck used for deliveries was stolen. It is a Ford truck, Newfoundland and Labrador licence plate CE2729. A decal of the Home Hardware Building Centre logo, with the words Grand Bank and the business phone number and website, is attached to both doors.

A witness reported seeing the vehicle this morning around 7:15, near Goobies.

Burin Peninsula RCMP is asking anyone who sees this vehicle to report it immediately by calling 911.
