Break and enter with firearm leads to arrest, one person injured

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has made an arrest following a break and enter and firearms offences.

On Monday around 11:30 p.m., Operational Patrol Services responded to a disturbance at a residence on Parkwood Drive in Corner Brook. Responding officers learned that a male had unlawfully entered a home and discharged a firearm. One male was taken to hospital for an injury consistent with a gunshot wound. The injury is not believed to be life threatening.

The RNC Criminal Investigation Division was engaged and officers arrested Scott King today (Dec. 30) on charges of assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, careless use of a firearm, possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose, pointing a firearm, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, and breaking and entering.

The 36-year-old was held to appear in court.
