Becket Integrated Youth Services expands province-wide with new Labrador hub and two additional regional sites
Choices for Youth joined the Labrador Friendship Centre and Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services to announce the growth of Becket Integrated Youth Services to Happy Valley–Goose Bay.
This is the third Integrated Youth Services (IYS) hub in Newfoundland and Labrador, providing young people under the age of 30 access to barrier-free, integrated clinical and wrap-around social services. This announcement marks an exciting milestone in
the continued growth of Becket across Newfoundland and Labrador and reflects a shared commitment to improving youth well-being by bringing accessible, coordinated supports closer to young people and families in Labrador.
Operated by the Labrador Friendship Centre, in partnership with Choices for Youth and NL Health Services, Becket Labrador will provide free, youth-centred services to individuals aged 12 to 29 and their families, transforming youth well-being in our province. Services will be available in the areas of mental health, primary care, housing, employment, and community support – all delivered through a coordinated, accessible model to meet young people where they are. Becket Labrador will be
operational in the coming months.
In addition to this exciting announcement in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Choices for Youth and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador announced the launch of two new hub sites, which will be determined through a Request for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from communities and service providers interested in establishing a Becket Hub in the Central and/or Eastern
Rural Regions of Newfoundland and Labrador.
The addition of a Becket hub in each of these regions will provide the support necessary to improve mental health outcomes for young people by reducing barriers to care and creating welcoming spaces that support wellness, stability, and opportunity.
Becket Integrated Youth Services is currently operating in St. John’s and Corner Brook. Becket will be operating in five total locations across the province by 2028.
