Applications open for Seniors’ Inclusion Initiative
Applications are now being accepted for the 2026-27 Seniors’ Social Inclusion Initiative, supporting the Provincial Government’s commitment to fostering vibrant, inclusive and age- and dementia-friendly communities throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
The Seniors’ Social Inclusion Initiative grant program provides funding to support the creation of social opportunities for seniors and older adults. Supported through Budget 2026, this program strengthens connections and promotes healthy aging, mental wellness, and overall quality of life.
Grants of $1,000 are available for the 2026-27 program year. To be eligible, an applicant must:
- Be a not-for-profit organization that serves seniors and older adults.
- Be based in Newfoundland and Labrador and use funds received for projects in this province.
- Be in good standing with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s registry of companies, if incorporated.
- Provide a letter of support as outlined in the program guidelines, if not incorporated.
Applications from individuals, for-profit organizations and organizations that are not focused on serving seniors will not be considered.
The deadline to apply is Monday, August 31, 2026.
Last year, 104 organizations throughout the province received funding through the initiative, supporting a wide range of community-based programs that helped seniors and older adults stay active, engaged and connected.
