9,200 Currently Without Power, Down From 24,000 at Peak Impact
A Tuesday morning update from Newfoundland Power says that many customers on the island have had their power restored, although there is still plenty of work to do following extreme winds. The power company says that at peak impact, 24,000 customers were without power. Crews were working overnight and will continue their efforts to get everyone’s power restore today. Newfoundland Power thanks everyone for their patience and reminds the public to stay back at least 10m from downed power lines.
