37 Signal Regiment to conduct Winter Exercise near Clarkes Beach
37 Signal Regiment will conduct Exercise SIBERIAN JIMMY in the Clarkes Beach area, specifically in and around the Emerald Vale Training Area from Jan. 23-25.
Members of the public in and around Emerald Vale can expect to see approximately 20 soldiers carrying rifles, conducting winter familiarisation including the use of Arctic tents, conducting simulated defensive operations and utilizing military pattern vehicles. Members of the public will hear rifle rounds being fired. Only blank rounds will be employed on this exercise.
Members of the public are reminded that the Emerald Vale Training Area is a restricted area that is not open to the public for the safety of the public and Canadian Armed Forces personnel.
Exercise SIBERIAN JIMMY is being conducted to prepare members of 37 Canadian Brigade Group’s Signals unit to operate effectively in a cold weather environment when called to do so in support of Canadians and Canada’s interests.
