100 young women across N.L. to receive provincial scholarships Friday morning
The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is recognizing the achievements of young women across the province through the awarding of 100 scholarships marking the 100th anniversary of women gaining the right to vote and hold public office.
Premier Tony Wakeham and Women and Gender Equality Minister Lela Evans will join Lieutenant Governor Joan Marie Aylward to celebrate the recipients of the 100th Anniversary of Women Achieving the Right to Vote and Hold Public Office Scholarship Program.
The event will take place on Friday, March 20, at 11:00 a.m. at the Capital Hotel, 208 Kemmount Road, St. John’s.
These scholarships support and recognize young women across the province, representing an investment not only in their education, but also in the future leadership of Newfoundland and Labrador.
