There is new data on disability rates in Canada and it places this province near the top for those who need to access this. Statistics Canada gathered data for the year 2022, releasing it recently after its research. National figures show from 2017 to 2022, the disability rate rose in all provinces and most of the territories. Exactly 27 per cent of Canadians aged 15 and older had at least one disability. Mental health-related disabilities contributed to much of the rise in national disability rates. Here at home, disability rates saw an increase of 7.3 percent to a total of just over 30 per cent, that’s the third highest spike in Canada.
