The RNC responded to a report of a suspicious male walking with a machete on Portugal Cove Road in St. John’s on Sunday evening.
Officers arrived on the scene and quickly located the male carrying the weapon.
The 33-year-old was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. He was held for court.
