Placentia-Whitbourne RCMP congratulates Wolverines SAR on successful rescue of ATV riders
Three men were returned home safely by Avalon North Wolverines Search and Rescue after they were stranded in a wooded area near North Harbour Thursday evening.
On August 5, around 7:40 p.m., Placentia-Whitbourne RCMP received a call from a side-by-side operator, reporting that his machine had experienced a mechanical failure in the woods a few kilometres from Route 92. The operator and two passengers were unharmed, but unable to reach the roadway.
Police engaged Avalon North Wolverines Search and Rescue to assist with locating the men. Volunteers traveled to North Harbour and used a tracked vehicle to travel the wet terrain to the location provided. The men were located safely and transported back to the roadway
The men were safe and did not require medical assistance.
