Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor arrested in connection with Epstein files
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former British prince who was stripped of his royal titles after links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, was arrested this morning on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He remains in custody and police could be seen at Mountbatten-Windsor’s home in Sandringham, his brother King Charles’s estate in Norfolk.
Mountbatten-Windsor, who turned 66 today, has been facing allegations due to his relationship with Epstein for over a decade.
“Following a thorough assessment, we have now opened an investigation into this allegation of misconduct in public office,” Assistant Chief Constable Oliver Wright said in a statement. “We understand the significant public interest in this case, and we will provide updates at the appropriate time.”
His mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II, forced him to give up royal duties in 2019 after a confronting BBC interview that focused on his ties to Epstein.
Epstein was arrested on sex trafficking charges in 2019. He took his own life in jail while awaiting trial.
