Temporary changes to CT Medical Imaging Services at Health Sciences Centre

Health, News

Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services is advising the public that work to replace the Computed Tomography (CT) medical imaging machine at the Health Sciences Centre, in St. John’s began on Tuesday.

To reduce the impact on medical imaging services during the replacement project, a mobile CT unit is being installed at the Child Rehabilitation entrance at the Janeway. Modifications to the entrance will be in place to protect patients and staff from the elements when accessing the mobile CT machine.

Visitors and staff are advised to use the main entrance of the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre adjacent to the Emergency Department entrance. Signage will be in place to help direct individuals to alternate entrances.

Effective, Monday, March 30, 2026, outpatient CT appointments will take place at the mobile CT trailer. Patients are reminded to review their appointment letters carefully for appointment dates and instructions, and to register at the Janeway’s X-ray Department upon arrival.
