The Canadian Community Epidemiology Network on Drug Use has issued a toxic drug supply alert for areas in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Information of a possible harmful drug supply in both St. John’s and in the area of Grand Bank and Fortune has been reported. CCENDU says the dangerous substances in those regions are Crystal Meth, Fentanyl and Heroin.

The use of these substances increases the risk of overdose and death. THRIVE is reminding the public to call 911 in the event of an overdose, to carry a Naloxone Kit, and do not use alone.

Thrive is an official site providing free Naloxone Kits and training. You can also call 811 or visit www.gov.nl.ca/hcs/naloxonekits to receive a kit.
