Hospitality NL hosts inclusive tourism hiring event connecting job seekers with employers
Hospitality Newfoundland and Labrador, in partnership with Tourism HR Canada and community organizations, will host an Inclusive Tourism Hiring Event on Wednesday at the Holiday Inn in St. John’s.
The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., bringing together job seekers and tourism employers in a more personalized and supportive hiring environment. Designed as an alternative to traditional large scale job fairs, the event focuses on creating meaningful, one-on-one interactions between employers and job seekers. With a smaller group of tourism employers who are actively hiring, the format allows for more in-depth, interview-style conversations, reducing barriers and helping candidates feel more comfortable and confident.
Approximately 30-40 job seekers will participate in the event, all of whom are eager to explore employment opportunities in the tourism sector. A key feature of the event is the strong network of partners working collaboratively to support job seekers. Organizations including Tourism HR Canada, Empower, CCRW, and Avalon Employment will be on-site to provide guidance, support, and resources throughout the day, ensuring participants have the tools and confidence needed to engage with employers.
“This event reflects a more thoughtful and inclusive approach to workforce development,” said Craig Foley, CEO of Hospitality NL. “By creating a smaller, more supportive environment, we are helping to remove barriers and foster real connections between employers and job seekers. At the same time, we are strengthening our industry by opening doors to a broader and often underrepresented talent pool.”
