Happy Valley-Goose Bay to introduce tourism tax
Another municipality has also announced it will introduce a tourist accommodation tax. Beginning April 1, Happy Valley-Goose Bay will implement a four per cent tax on the nightly rate of all tourist accommodations.
The decision was made by the town’s council in mid-December but was announced in a public advisory late last week. The town says the new tax will support the continued growth of the local tourism sector.
