NTV’s Director of News and Current Affairs, Mark Dwyer has been leading the province’s top newscast for over a decade. If a newscast resembles an orchestra, Dwyer is its chief conductor. A national champion athlete and multi award-winning journalist, he’s been steering the province’s top newscast since 2013 – assembling a trusted, multi-faceted team that continues to yield some of the best news ratings in the entire country. He broke into the business in 1991, at just 19, cutting his journalistic teeth as a sports reporter with The Evening Telegram. It was the province’s daily newspaper that actually spawned his ‘On the Mark’ feature, which he would later resurrect to sustained success at NTV News. He’s actually won over a dozen Atlantic and national journalism awards for his weekly feature. Dwyer actually won RTNDA best sports feature in Canada in 2014. Prior to joining NTV, Dwyer also spent a decade as managing editor of The Newfoundland Herald., filing hundreds of features and celebrating the many talents of this province. When not leading the province’s top news program, he’s leading the nation’s top fastpitch softball team. His Galway Hitmen have won an unprecedented eight Canadian senior men’s fast pitch titles. Dwyer is married to his high school sweetheart, Katie, and they have two daughters, Claire and Madison.

Michael Connors started his career at The Telegram and joined the NTV News team in 2003 as a general assignment reporter. In 2005, Michael was assigned to the press gallery in the House of Assembly and spent 16 years as NTV’s legislative reporter. He served for six years as president of the Newfoundland and Labrador Press Gallery Association. Michael was promoted to the anchor desk in 2022. He also hosts NTV’s weekly public affairs show, Issues & Answers. Michael has degrees in history from Memorial University of Newfoundland and journalism from Carleton University in Ottawa. He was born St. John’s, where he lives with his wife, Amanda, and their children, Andrew and Dianna.

Jodi Cooke began her career in journalism nearly two decades ago with CTV Atlantic and would later join the NTV Evening Newshour team.

Jodi has covered the stories that have impacted our province to this day; from the tragic offshore crash of flight 491 to devastating hurricanes and political events. She has won three silver Atlantic Journalism Awards and has been nominated for two Radio Television Digital News Association Awards, including for her coverage during her time as an embedded journalist with the Royal Canadian Navy.

Originally from New Brunswick, Jodi worked in the outdoor sports industry developing marketing strategies for the top ski and snowboard resorts in Canada before returning to school in Toronto to complete post graduate studies in Journalism, New Media. Jodi didn’t fully leave her ski career behind, she returns to Austria each January month to teach skiing to international students.
Outside of her life in news & sports, Jodi loves sailing and singing. She is a soprano with the Philharmonic Choir of the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra.

Ryan Harding is a general assignment reporter and weekend weather presenter for NTV. He returned home in 2024, rejoining the NTV News team after a decade-plus career in journalism across Canada with stops at CTV Toronto, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Calgary. In 2021, Ryan became the weather anchor for Calgary’s CTV Morning Live and CTV News Channel. Ryan graduated from Ireland’s Limerick Institute of Technology with a degree in Creative Broadcasting and holds multiple broadcast journalism diplomas from Loyalist College. Today, Ryan is honoured to be able to tell the stories of his home province from his hometown of Mount Pearl.

Rosie Mullaley is an award-winning journalist who covered the justice beat in St. John’s for many years. A veteran reporter, who spent over three decades with the province’s daily newspaper, she enjoys telling a wide range of stories, from human interest pieces to sports to hard-hitting news and developments that affect citizens in their communities. When she isn’t tracking down the news, she is a talented musician who plays keyboard and guitar and is lead vocalist for the four-piece band Trails End. One of the province’s most respected journalists, she is also the proud mother of two wonderful boys.

Colleen Lewis has been NTV’s central Newfoundland correspondent since 2003. As part of the province’s most-watched newscast for two decades, Colleen has provided coverage throughout the province that have appeared provincially and nationally. From the Badger flood, to significant trials, to the shifting political climate, Colleen has brought reliable coverage to viewers for over 20 years.

Born in Bonne Bay, and raised in Deer Lake, she is also the Globe and Mail best-selling author of Mr. Big. A true crime which stayed on the national bestseller list for six straight weeks in the fall of 2015.
She has freelanced for the CBC, and written articles for magazines including Canadian Geographic.

Colleen volunteered in provincial politics through the early 1990’s and went on to develop a small community newspaper in her hometown. From there, she entered the world of daily news at the Western Star. But for her, nurturing her family and caring for her community has been the greatest accomplishment so far.

Becky Daley began her career with Newfoundland Broadcasting at just 19 years old, joining the “Summer Cruiser Team”, where she spent four summers touring the province and covering top events. This formative experience allowed Becky to get a taste for radio and television broadcasting and granted a unique opportunity with helping others to share their stories, something she quickly became passionate about.

In 2020, Becky launched a feature segment on NTV titled “Our Time,” which focuses on highlighting the trials and triumphs of young people in Newfoundland and Labrador. This platform has allowed her to share the remarkable accomplishments of youth with a much wider audience. Throughout her journey with NTV, Becky has grown from part-time reporting to becoming a household name within the province’s top newscast, where she covers a wide range of topics from education to health care, politics to court cases, and interviewing remarkable people along the way.

Marykate O’Neill joined the NTV News team as a general assignment reporter in 2021. Marykate’s journey with journalism started at the College of the North Atlantic where she enrolled in the journalism program. In 2020 Marykate won the ‘Marine Atlantic Journalism Scholarship’ through the Atlantic Journalism Awards. Since starting at NTV Marykate has covered many aspects from breaking news to lifestyle reporting. You can see her every Thursday on our feature Inspiring NL.

For close to a decade, Earl has carved himself a place in the niche market of local spot news photojournalism. At first he pursued his interest as a hobby before working as a freelance photojournalist for VOCM News starting in 2014. It was with VOCM that Earl won a 2019 Atlantic Journalism Award — a silver award in the category of Excellence in Digital Journalism: Breaking News. His coverage of a fire that destroyed a Mount Pearl hotel earned accolades in the first year that digital journalism was recognized by the Awards.

In the summer of 2021 Earl joined the NTV News team. Once again on the spot news beat, his mission is to tell frequently difficult stories with respectfulness, accuracy, and tact, often with a focus on the first responders who put much on the line in an emergency.

Earl’s work can also be seen on the side of St. John’s Regional Fire Department’s newest aerial truck — a mural showcasing the work of the department’s firefighters.

For years Earl has worked as a local delivery driver, and for over fifteen years as a karaoke host. When he’s not on the street with his camera, Earl enjoys hiking, sports, music, and spending time with his wife and young son.

Glen Carter is the former co-anchor of the NTV Evening Newshour, leaving the anchor desk after almost 40 years in broadcast. He is a veteran of the television news business, having reported and anchored in St. John’s, Halifax, Ottawa and Calgary. As an award-winning reporter, he’s produced compelling television on everything from the G-8 summit of world leaders to the heartbreak of sea and air disasters. He currently works as an editorial advisor for NTV News and files special features for the province’s top-rated newscast.
